The Center

Maryland EXCELS

Our Center participates in Maryland EXCELS which is a Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). A QRIS is a framework used to recognize, assess, improve and communicate the level of quality in early childhood and school-age care and educational settings. QRIS are used to raise the quality of care and education and to support and improve children’s development and teacher competences. A QRIS awards ratings to center and family-based child care and school-age child care settings that meet increasingly rigorous high standards of quality in key areas. EXCELS stands for Excellence Counts in Early Learning and School-Age care. Maryland EXCELS has awarded Hope Grows a Level 5 for Lost Knife center and Level 4 for Century BLVD. NAEYC

Hope Grows is happy to announce that our centers are NAEYC accredited. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. We advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children. The association comprises nearly 60,000 individual members of the early childhood community and 52 Affiliates, all committed to delivering on the promise of high-quality early learning. Together, we work to achieve a collective vision: that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential.

CACFP

Hope Grows participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to ensure all our enrolled children have access to nutrious meals and snacks. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating childcare centers, day care homes, and adult day care centers. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children and adults in the United States.

Our Staff

We pride ourselves on the quality of our staff members and we are in the Maryland Credentialing Program which is a voluntary program that recognizes teachers who go beyond the requirements of State licensing and registration regulations. There are six credential levels each one recognizing a teacher’s achievement of a specified number of training clock hours, experience and professional activities that are important for providing a quality classroom environment. Our staff ranges from a level six to a beginning level of one.
